We plant half of the trees in the Netherlands and the other half abroad.
Choose where we plant the trees on your behalf. You can make your preferred choice from four projects, where we need your support the most right now.
Fill in a personal message that will appear on the certificate and choose how you want to give it: digitally or by printing it yourself.

Are you giving a tree as a gift? If so, we’ll send you a certificate as proof. It will feature your name and the recipient’s name. You can print the certificate yourself on sustainable paper or email it directly to the recipient. You can set the delivery date yourself. Even more sustainable!
Gift a treeTrees and forests play a crucial role in tackling climate change and the loss of biodiversity. There is no life without trees. That is why we are planting new forests worldwide, restoring degraded forests and raising people’s awareness of the importance of trees – whether close to home or on the other side of the world. Our sustainable projects help create a better climate, more biodiversity and healthier living conditions for everyone.
Thus, together with our donors and partners, we invest in a green and healthy earth for all!
Trees for All has more than 25 years of experience and is a Public Benefit Organisation (ANBI) with a CBF certificate. The CBF checks that recognised charities meet strict quality requirements, thus guaranteeing that your donation contributes to a better world and that you can trust Trees for All.
It certainly is! We have trees to suit every occasion. Take a look at our gift a tree page.
There are various ways you can support us. You can plant trees, you can offset carbon emissions or you can support us through a general donation. You can choose whether to do so as a regular contribution or a one-off gesture. Whatever the case, you’ll help us achieve our mission: a green and healthy world for everyone.
Yes, that’s possible! Then you’ll receive a separate certificate for each tree. You can also send the certificates straight on to the recipients.
Trees for All plants half of all trees in the Netherlands and the other half abroad. We do this consciously. Climate change, deforestation and nature loss are global problems. So we aim to tackle them both close to home and on the other side of the world.
If we truly want to make significant progress, it is very important that we also facilitate projects abroad. First of all, there is much more space available to plant trees on a large scale. Moreover, trees in tropical countries grow much faster, which means they absorb more CO2 more quickly. This in turn helps combat further global warming.
Furthermore, people in low-income countries are hit hardest by the effects of climate change and deforestation. Droughts, heatwaves, floods, or hurricanes, for example, cause crop failures or shortages of food and water. This is precisely why it is so important to restore and preserve forests. Our international forest projects contribute to this. Moreover, these projects ensure better living conditions for the people, who benefit from (more) employment, income, food, or better access to water thanks to the project.
In short, by supporting Trees for All you contribute to several sustainable development goals at the same time: climate action, restoration of nature and biodiversity, poverty alleviation and food security.
Exactly because so much forest is disappearing worldwide, it is important to plant new forests and protect existing ones. At the same time, we understand that the news about global deforestation and the increase in forest fires can be discouraging. But doing nothing is not an option as far as we are concerned.
Positivity is one of our core values. We believe that change is possible if we plant more trees together and raise awareness about the importance of trees. The more people who join us, the greater our impact. Every tree counts!
Besides planting trees, you can also contribute to a green and healthy world in other ways. Eating plant-based food more often, avoiding the plane and the car or buying fewer new things: it all contributes to reducing deforestation and environmental pollution. It also helps to consciously choose which organisations you support with your money: from banks, insurers and investors to the (online) shops where you buy your groceries and other items.
We work with an average donation amount for all the trees we plant. This makes it possible for us to support many different projects in the Netherlands as well as abroad. There are many factors that determine the price per tree. The cost varies by country, type of project and circumstances. If you’re planting trees in a challenging area, where you need additional irrigation or protection from livestock, for example, the costs will rise. And we always take account of the costs for long-term management and rigorous monitoring of the project results.
It’s important to know that your donation is far more than just planting a tree. We choose for an integral approach, whereby we plant trees, ensure that the drivers for deforestation are removed, restore biodiversity and contribute to better living conditions for the local community.
It’s good that people ask critical questions about the necessity of planting trees. Of course, reforestation does take place naturally as well and we encourage that too. But it’s a much slower process. By planting the right tree species straight away, the natural regeneration process is accelerated. This means we can sequester more carbon in the shorter term and increase biodiversity by planting a large number of different species. In some cases, spontaneous reforestation is simply not possible or desirable. In monocultures (forests of a single species), there’s often a lack of seed sources and trees for a varied forest. If you don’t take action, then a monotonous forest will regrow. In order to create native forests on that land, with a rich variety of species, it’s necessary to intervene. Or sometimes former farmland has degraded through incorrect use of the land, which means that natural reforestation is not an option there either. Whatever the case, we always plant lots of different varieties of trees and shrubs, in order to create a healthy and climate-proof forest.
We really appreciate that many people are willing to do volunteer work for our foundation. Right now, we don’t have any volunteer jobs available. When we do, we will share this via the vacancies on our website and social media. So keep an eye on those channels to stay informed.
