Why are trees important?
Trees are essential for all life on earth. They provide oxygen, clean the air and keep us cool on hot days. They also help combat climate change and protect us from droughts and floods. Furthermore, forests are home to countless plants and animals. In short: we can’t live without trees!
Trees and climate
Trees create a more stable climate. They sequester carbon, release oxygen and provide clean air. Check out all the benefits of trees for the climate and for our surroundings.

How trees look after peopleThe impact of the trees planted by Trees for All
Climate change and loss of nature don’t stop at our own borders, which is why Trees for All plants trees abroad, as well as in the Netherlands. We also protect existing forests and raise people’s awareness of the importance of trees.
To achieve these goals, we support tree planting and reforestation projects over the whole world. All these projects have a positive effect on the climate (both local and global), on biodiversity and on the people in the region. So, through one donation, you actually make three times the impact!

What we do thanks to your support
In the Netherlands…
-
Plant new forests and reinforce existing forests with native tree and shrub species that can withstand climate change.
-
Green the countryside, so that biodiversity increases, the soil quality improves and the surroundings become greener and healthier.
-
Plant trees in and around cities, to combat heat stress and prevent flooding.
…and abroad
-
Plant trees together with the local people, whose lives are improved through the extra work, income, food or water provided by the forest.
-
Restore forests that sequester large amounts of carbon, such as the tropical rainforest on Borneo and the mangrove forests in Mexico.
-
Restore and expand the habitats of countless unique plants and animals, in order to protect biodiversity worldwide.
More about our results
What is Trees for All?
Trees for All is a Dutch non-profit organisation dedicated to creating a world with more forests. We do this by planting trees in the Netherlands and abroad.
Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, we have already planted millions of trees around the world. And as long as more forests are disappearing worldwide than are being restored, we will keep planting. Because every tree counts: for a better climate, more biodiversity and a healthy environment for people.
Trees for All is a certified charity with the CBF quality mark. This means we meet strict standards for charities and are audited annually. Therefore, you can be confident that your donation ends up in the right place. We also have an ANBI status, which means that donations may be tax-deductible.
