Status: Completed project

A new nature reserve and recreational area in the Green Heart

Between 2012 and 2018 Trees for All contributed to the realization of over 23 hectares of forest in Bentwoud. Although the forest is still young and developing, it already hosts various special birds, butterflies and plants.

More forest is crucial in our fight to attain the climate goals in the Netherlands. Besides the necessary carbon sequestration, trees are also good for the biodiversity in the Netherlands and recreational activities. Therefore, Staatsbosbeheer has created 800 hectares of nature on former agricultural land in the Randstand. An important part of this plan was the realisation of diverse and natural forests. By now, Bentwoud is the biggest connected forest in the Randstad.
Trees for all contributed to 23 hectares of this forest in Bentwoud.
