Between 2011 and 2013 Trees for All, together with Staatsbosbeheer, planted 2,2 hectares of forest in the Venneperhout.

A magnificent park for people and animals

In the centre of what used to be a lake, a natural park was realized. In November 2011 we planted the first trees. Since then it has developed into a beautiful park.

More forest is crucial in our fight to attain the climate goals in the Netherlands. Besides the necessary carbon sequestration, trees are also good for the biodiversity in the Netherlands and recreational activities. In the middle of the former Haarlemmer lake a park was developed where there is plenty of space for nature development and recreation.

Between 2011 and 2013 Trees for All, together with Staatsbosbeheer realized 2,2 hectares of forest by planted a variety of trees and shrubs. Although the forest is relatively young still, there is a lot to explore in terms of nature. In springtime the banks of the ditches turn yellow as the coltsfoot blossoms. Here you can see orchids, such as the rare heath spotted orchid. Even a bee orchid has been spotted! In the early mornings you can see the partridges emerging in search of shelter and food. There are also many foxes. Birdwatchers can feast their eyes on birds of prey such as the kestrel and hobby.

Where did we plant?

In the middle of fields and the village of New-Vennep you find park Venneperhout. A beautiful place for both people and nature. Here you can enjoy being in nature, horseback riding, picknick, kiting and more.
