The memorial forest is a very special forest, which was planted by Trees for All to commemorate the air crash of flight MH17 over Ukraine.
On 7 November 2015, we presented the initiative to the surviving relatives and the foundation Stichting Vliegramp MH17. The surviving relatives could vote on the three proposals presented. The forest monument received the most votes. Now, a tree has been planted for each victim in the memorial forest adjacent to Schiphol airport.
You can find more information about this initiative and its background on the website of Stichting Nationaal Monument MH17.
The project has been carried out by the National Forest Fund, an initiative of Trees for All, Staatsbosbeheer and the Nationale Boomfeestdag.
