We plant trees all over the Netherlands. This may relate to new forests on former farmland or to the recovery of diseased woodlands. We plant as many different native species of trees as possible. This diversity is important for a healthy and climate-proof forest.

Bolivia
The Bolivian Andes are characterized by a rugged landscape with mountains well over 6,000 metres (20,000 feet) high. Unfortunately, large sections of the Andes mountain range have been deforested. Shortage of trees and non-sustainable use of land lead to enormous water deficits in the area. Droughts cause crop failures and these, in turn, lead to endangering the livelihood of the inhabitants. Together with the local population and our partner Samay Foundation, we will return the green to the Bolivian highlands.

Borneo
Parts of Borneo's tropical rainforest were destroyed by forest fires in 2015. As a result, the habitat of many animals, trees and plants is becoming smaller and smaller. In addition, the desiccation threatens to release huge amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. Together with Borneo Nature Foundation, rangers of Sebangau National Park and the local communities, we will plant 100,000 trees to restore the tropical rainforest. In doing so, we are giving back habitat to the critically endangered orangutan, storing carbon and creating jobs for people from neighboring villages.

We initially plant your trees in the projects you choose. After a year, or if the projects have been funded before that, we allocate your donation to projects where we need your support most at that time.
